Help us make your community healthier and more sustainable
Do you have a passion for protecting and improving the environment?
Are you concerned about the impact of climate change on our planet, our local area, and your own family and friends?
Would you like to get involved in helping make your community a healthier and more sustainable place to grow up and live?
We knew you’d say yes!
We are SHIFT, the Perth and Kinross Climate Change Commission and we want people like you to help us make a difference by joining SHIFT as a Commissioner.
SHIFT is an independent body, made up of local people, which has been set up to help Perth and Kinross Council put in place policies to help tackle and prevent the damaging impacts of climate change in our region.
We’re already seeing climate change affect us locally, damaging our nature and wildlife, pushing up the cost of living, increasing fuel poverty and inequalities, and worsening our health.
SHIFT gives people like you a voice and an opportunity to influence local decisions. You can also help us encourage people in your own community to make what are often simple changes in their daily lives.
We want people from all ages, genders and backgrounds to join us as Commissioners. You don’t need to be an expert on climate science or even have experience of being part of other groups.
Most of all, we’re interested in people with passion, ideas and a commitment to their community – and we’re particularly keen for young people aged 16 to 25 to get involved.
Being a Commissioner involves a small number of online and face to face meetings, but beyond that you can get involved in ways that suit your skills, interests and the time you have available. That could mean helping organise events, getting involved in campaigns, providing feedback on reports, or sharing ideas on how to make our city, towns and villages more sustainable places.
To register your interest in joining SHIFT as a member of the Commission, please complete the following short online form. It will take no more than 5 minutes of your time and it could make a big difference.
