Deborah has over 30 years of experience working with the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA), with extensive expertise in planning consultations and a strong understanding of National Planning Frameworks (NPF3 and NPF4). Her work has spanned the full lifecycle of major infrastructure projects, from initial planning through to implementation, including projects such as the A9 dualling, Cross Tay Link Road, flood protection schemes, and housing developments.
Through this work, she has developed a deep understanding of the impact that large-scale developments can have on local communities. She also works closely with the public, farmers, and businesses on flood risk management, as well as issues relating to drought and water scarcity.
Outside of her professional role, Deborah is passionate about sustainability and reducing waste, with a strong personal commitment to reusing and recycling wherever possible. She enjoys visiting charity shops, antique fairs, and auctions, as well as spending time gardening—growing both flowers and vegetables—and exploring the countryside.
